Rolf Holowenko,
bassist and front man for the EST, he was chosen as Best Bassist of EST 2000 by
"EST Bulletin", likes to play piano rather than bass, hates blues and
rock like the plague and is happiest spending his evenings in an easy chair.

Roll Over Beethoven.
As a descendant of Ukraine nobility born in Gera, Germany, he was already singing
overtones to the lunch siren as a small child, tap danced without practising to
"Singing in the Rain" at the age of one, and, when he went to sign up
for guitar lessons at the home town music school at the age of ten, was automatically
registered for violoncello lessons. Ten happy years of cello lessons followed.
Considering the circumstances, a change of genre was destined, and thus entertainment
music, accompanied by a healthy distrust of classical music, music teachers, and string
instruments in particular, became his passion. In the mean time he is once again enjoying
good health, loves Wagner, Sinatra and consuming chocolate bars. Rolf Holowenko is working
as a sound engineer in Berlin, Germany.

Rolf enjoys a special popularity among his colleagues and the countless masses not
only for his vocal abilities, but also because it is Rolf, as EST´s sound man who
regularly protects the band from dying from electric shock and who can correct even
Bob´s absolutely unbelievable cabling. As sound engineer, he is the button presser
and good-sounds-maker. Rolf is the network maintenance man for EST and initiator of the
internet site, functions as chancellor candidate for the European Savings Party (ESP),
does character sketches, and collects records, money, and items lost at gigs.
